MP congratulates School’s “Outstanding” Hatrick of OFSTED reports


John Leech MP has tabled an Parliamentary Motion in the House of Commons celebrating the work of all those at Lancasterian School, which was awarded its third consecutive “outstanding” grade following an Ofsted inspection on 1-2 April 2014.

for pupils who have physical disabilities, complex medical conditions and/or speech language and communication difficulties as well as moderate, severe or profound and multiple learning difficulties.

The school was warmly praised in every category of the inspection, including pupil achievement, teaching, safeguarding and leadership and management.

Reflecting on the report, John Leech MP stated “I am delighted to see Ofsted recognising once again the very high standard upheld at Lancasterian School. All the pupils, parents and staff should be very proud of their achievements and I know how much the local community really value the School.

I would like to particularly congratulate Executive Head Teacher Dave Calvert and Head Teacher Katie Cass for their superb management of Lancasterian and I look forward to seeing the school continue to thrive in years to come.”

The inspection report stated: “Pupils thoroughly enjoy coming to school and thrive on its friendly and welcoming atmosphere” while “pupils’ outstanding achievement is the result of the enormous capacity of leaders and staff to tackle and reduce the impact of pupils’ barriers to learning and making progress.”

That this House notes the tremendous hard work of all those at Lancasterian School, a specialist school for interaction and communication, which was awarded an “Outstanding” grade by Ofsted following an inspection on 1st and 2nd April 2014; recognises that this is the third consecutive “Outstanding” grade that the School has received; commends the superb management of the school by Executive Head Teacher Dave Calvert and Head Teacher Katie Cass; congratulates all those at Lancasterian on their fantastic work in providing education and care for pupils who have physical disabilities, complex medical conditions and/or speech language and communication difficulties in addition to moderate, severe or profound and multiple learning difficulties.
