Manchester Withington - Events this weekend!

There are other events apart from the World Cup this weekend!
This weekend we have a number of great events happening across the constituency.

Saturday - Love Burnage Fun Day - St Margaret's Church, Burnage Lane, Burnage
This is a fantastic event for all the family and it is always well attended and brilliantly organised.
There is a bouncy castle, face painting, climbing wall, some halal food, an asain singer, a magic show and a brass band!
The event is running from 2pm til 5pm.

Sunday - Bees in the Mersey Valley - A guided walk
Another great event put on by the Friends of Chorlton Meadows.
Bee expert Brian Robinson will be leading the event, teaching us about bees and their important pollination role. Brian will give a short talk on bee identification and about some of the different species we have locally. This will be followed by a short walk around some flower rich parts of the meadows to find some bees.
This event will take place in the Mersey Valley and takes place from 10am til 12 noon.
The meeting point is Mersey Valley Visitors' Centre, Rifle Road, Sale.

Sunday - Summer Solstice Picnic - Chorlton Meadows
Another great event in Chorlton Meadows for all the family.
I'm sure that most of you will be aware of how hard the Save Chorlton Meadows organisation fought to protect itself against development and this is testament to the fantastic community spirit of all involved in the Meadows.
This picnic is aiming at repeating the huge success they had in November at the protest picnic, hopefully the weather will be much better this time around as it was rather chilly that day!
They are asking everyone to bring your sandwiches, music, families, kites, dogs and bicycles and of course sunshine! The fun starts from 2pm and runs til around 5pm.

Sunday - Silk Brass Band - St Nicholas Church, Kingsway, Burnage
St Nicholas have regular events and have managed to pull in the brilliant Silk Brass Band from Maccesfield and they are performing from 7.30pm.

Apologies if there are any I have missed out on, I hope to see you at one or more of these over the weekend!
