Leech votes against Fracking and for local pubs and cyclists in Infrastructure Bill today

South Manchester Liberal Democrat MP John Leech is set to rebel in the House of Commons today and vote for a 1 year moratorium on Fracking. He will also be supporting amendments to protect local pubs.

John said today, “I will be backing amendments today to make Fracking much harder, including a 12 month moratorium. This is because it is neither a low carbon option nor will guarantee lower gas prices.”

John added, “I will also be voting for amendments to allow communities to protect local pubs and support, for the first time, the writing into law of the cycling and walking investment strategy. This will mean cyclists in Manchester will get a much louder voice.”
