Things in Didsbury have just got sweeter as Michelé Marie Cakes opened their first shop in the centre of the village today.
The new bakery, which will serve a range of delicacies including vegan and gluten free options, was founded by Jen Savaris and Jan Cooper.
Former Manchester MP and newly elected Didsbury West Councillor, John Leech, opened the shop today. He said: “I'm thrilled to support this new local and independent business in the heart of Didsbury village.
"Shops like this are exactly what makes Didsbury so unique, it's fantastic to see small businesses like this thriving in Manchester and bringing further jobs to the area."
Jen Savaris, business co-owner, said: "We couldn't be more excited to be opening our brand new job here in Didsbury. Jan and I have worked really hard to make this become a reality and we can't wait to get stuck in and providing Didsbury with the our best cakes!
"We'd like to thank everyone for their support and to John Leech for officially opening our shop today."
Cllr John Leech concluded: "The cakes here are incredible and I'll certainly be back! I will continue to offer my support in what ever way I can and wish Jen and Jan all the success for their new venture."
The bakery is located in the centre of Didsbury Village at 73 School Lane. The pair have already catered for the likes of Amir Khan and offer award-winning cakes and delicacies using only the finest and freshest ingredients.
