Sorry John, I won't accept that about Christies. But it doesn't matter any more now. Politics moves on and that is yesterday's battle and what I have repeatedly said is that, irrespective of who is right about Christies, the next election won't be won or lost on yesterday's battles. There are new battles now, and it looks like Labour is sinking not rising nationally, so I don't see how they'll get Withington back on national issues.. As for John Leech's personal popularity round here, Lucy Powell doesn't have a clue how to undermine it, nor do her colleagues. Parachuting the odd minister in for a handshake won't do it, and they don't seem to have any other strategy.
