Amy, if you read all the early threads on this forum, you will see that the vast majority of those that voted john leech in (and that includes me) were not even interested about whether or not Christies was closing down. I certainly stopped voting New Labour on the issues such as the Iraq War; student finance; ID cards etc. The reasons why I still no longer vote New Labour have since grown, and again, are well documented on previous threads, but to summarise, they include poor immigration control; continued restrictions on my civil liberties; the lies that laws would not be due to tabloid pressure, but based in science; poor criminal justice system.
The only thing I think Labour have really achieved is the introduction of the National Minimum Wage.
