What trial? What are you hoping to get out of this as an end result? A court order instructing each and every one of the Liberal Democrat members of Manchester Withington to vote for you as their PPC? A court order declaring that you should have been selected last time around and hence you should now be the MP, so please take your seat immediately? These things will not happen in any party. I don't think that any court would decide that you are the Labour or Conservative candidate either.

Ultimately, the members voted as they saw fit. One or two might have had bad motives for it, others might have preferred the other candidates for a whole raft of reasons, many utterly reasonable. Now if your case was that a lot of people voting in the selection should not have been allowed to vote then you might have a case, but if they were entitled to vote, were eligible members at the time of the vote, lived where they claimed to live, existed and made their decision in a secret ballot and chose not to vote for you then it's hard to see what you can get out of this entire legal process.

Frankly the notion that the entire membership were all brainwashed by a couple of remarks by an individual is insulting and would be insulting to the membership of any party. I cannot imagine any political party would allow somebody to stay on their approved candidates' list if they lost a selection and subsequently stood against the official candidate for that party in the election. No court of law is going to instruct the Liberal Democrats or any other party that you must be reinstated to their candidates' list under those circumstances. It won't happen - ever.

And what's changing rooms got to do with anything? I know of no unisex changing rooms, every changing area that I've seen in Greater Manchester is either segregated by gender or has individual cubicles where people change in private and attendants who ensure that nobody is misbehaving by looking over the top of cubicles or peering in through the wrong door. Why is it considered anti-islamic for people to get changed in a private cubicle? Are you really advocating people getting changed in a mixed-gender environment with no privacy? That makes no sense.
