Yasmin Zalzala wins vital first step
In legal aid battle!
Yasmin Zalzala’s courtroom battle is a step nearer after a recommendation of reference to the Public Interest Panel to consider full funding.
The Funding Review Committee of the Legal Services Commission (formerly Legal Aid Board) after testimony from Dr Zalzala with documents describing the conduct of the Liberal Democrat nationally, regionally and locally, decided that other people may benefit from this case, especially
All potential candidates of any party
The Electorate of those candidates
The political process and landscape generally, with particular reference to the involvement of those in ethnic groups.
‘I explained how Lib Dem MP’s, MEP’s, Barristers, Solicitors, Councillors, an ex-mayor of Manchester and former President of the Association of University Teachers at Manchester University were involved in the discrimination.’, comments Dr Zalzala, and how the enquiries set up by the Lib Dems were mere window dressing. One enquiry’s report was changed by the regional executive and during one national investigation; an ethnic minority member was fast asleep next to the chairman!
‘On top of this, they ruined my reputation with lies in the press, especially the Leader of Manchester Liberal Democrats Simon Ashley and the Equality Spokesperson Alison Firth. The MP John Leech who is part of the Lib Dem front bench team in Parliament made up negative stories about me. I have put the details on the internet.
‘If this is the standard of conduct of Parliamentarians and councillors in leadership position, what can we expect from junior persons? And John Leech advertises himself as ‘Parliamentarian of the Year’ in leaflets! This is demeaning to the integrity and sovereignty of Britains Parliament, which is the mother of all Parliaments.
‘I explained to the committee that the usual path for minorities is to be parachuted into positions so the party look good. They know their place and white people rule ok. Britain deserves better political leadership especially when we are fighting terrorism.
‘Examples are the muslim councillors in Manchester. Not one seems to have complained when the council refurbished its sports facilities without taking the needs of Muslims for privacy. Changing facilities are unisex.
‘Muslim MEP Saj Karim, a loss by anyone’s standard, and two muslim councillors have recently defected from the Liberal Democrats in Manchester. This cannot be a coincidence.
‘I explained that I had nothing to hide and am happy for any allegations to be put in open court.
