Leech for the Pie...in the Skies...erm...

Posted by JLW on Tuesday May 17, 20:51

EVERYBODY KNOWS SOMEBODY WHO HAS BEEN HELPED BY JOHN.

This line that appeared so many times in his leaflets that it just had to be true...just like his claims that Christie Hospital is under the threat of closure and that under a Lib Dem Government, the colour 'black' will be rebranded and known as 'white.'

Are you one of the 68,000 voters in the Manchester Withington Constituency who is indebted to John's *help*?

If so, leave a comment below.

I have never been helped by John Leech, but I was once totally ignored by him. His rudeness is legion, I cannot comment upon his ability however. We shall see...

I went to the debate at Ivy Cottage church and he just totally ignored me when I tried to talk to him.

I once asked John Leech a sensible political question and he just ignored me and began speaking to someone else. I suspect that he didn't have the knowledge or gumption to answer.

Very odd taste in men Edwina??? I'd sooner have someone 'pasty' who is good at their job than someone who is 'tasty' and isn't!

I've not been helped by Mr Leech, nor do I know anyone who has been. A little old lady I knew said he was tough on pigeon droppings, but I don't think that had anthing to do with him at all.

I was at the debate and remember thinking that John Leech would make a good MP: His qualites were apparent for all to see; uncaring, dogmatic, feeble, lily livered, craven and obviously stuck in a sartorial timewarp, since his suit must be a generic Tesco brand. A pathetic individual, I contemplate with despair, the type of individuals that voted this 'man'.

From what I hear John Leech is aloof, ruthless, proud, stuck-up, condescending, awkward, moody, sulky, mean, and selfish. He ignored me and my friends at the debate when he arrived. I think it is important to see how he actually performs as our MP before we judge him, the first thing being his maiden speech.

I was so shocked when I asked for his view on lesbian marriage; and he said he would not discuss it in public. My partner of six years, Alison Giles, also received a tongue lashing (from John Leech), when she asked him about his stance on lesbian-couple adoption. I suspect that he (John Leech) might hold homophobic predjudices.

I am an eighty year old pensioner and my son has helped me with this reply, but I feel cheated by this L.D. victory, all my life I have suffered injustice, and when I cornered John Leech in Chorlton he ignored me to speak to a young gentleman with ear-rings and purple hair. Shame on him!

It might be interesting to write to John Leech and ask him exactly what his stance on gay marriage/ adoption is or to go to one of his MP surgeries, when he starts them, so that questions can be put to him when he is not in a position to ignore/walk away.

No disrespect to anyone but we have gone from asking the question on whether anyone has ever been helped by John to talking about 'anal intercourse'. I'm quite sure that John, as a Liberal, is not homophobic but there is only one real way to find that out. Everyone that wants to present the question to him, send him a letter!

I have to agree - there is no point making stupid comments that clearly aren't what John Leech said. It would be interesting to hear his views on homosexuality, but the proper and correct way to find out is to ask him at one of his surgeries or write him a letter not just abuse him.

Yes, thank you for sensible input from Steve Bishop and Chris Taylor. We have gotten off the point. John Leech's long term partner Catherine Kilday, was well within her rights to clarify the sexuality views of John, but I consider this kind of rhetoric (about sexual practises) banal. Let us consider all the good that John and his partner (Catherine) have done for our ward and all the positive hopes and expectations for the future. I am 100% behind John on his perception of a brighter future, and I am sure Catherine will give maximum support for John's vision.

Erm, I might be missing the point, but what does John Leech's partner got to do with anything? The real question is why did John Leech lie about Christie hospital closing in his campaign and use scare tactics such as targeting women with mailshots about cancer screening rather than concentrating on policy issues. Using a the UK's leading cancer hospital, research centre and cancer patients as a political football is a disgrace and if his performance as an MP reflects his campaign then our constituency has a lot to worry about. I believe that people shouldn't just abuse John Leech with immature comments that aren't true - stooping to his level isn't acceptable. I believe John Leech should apologise to all of the people that were upset and worried by the lies he told in his campaign, and he should stand down in light of the result of the strategic health authorities review.

I have stumbled across this site by accident[which incidently is rather good]in a vain attempt to contact Mr Leech over an issue I needed help with. In the past Mr Bradley and his staff were very helpful to me despite not sharing the same political viewpoint and as a local employer I appreciated his sound and grounded advice which was always swiftly forthcoming. Now I realise that he has been replaced by a privately educated person who's main experience of work was that of a part time call operative with an apparent talent for student politics.Mr Leech would do well to copy the example of Mr Bradley and establish an fully staffed office[ with compenent staff as opposed to political bozos]asap if he is to command the respect of the business community[with a website] He also needs to stand down as a councillor it is totally unacceptable to be paid from the public purse twice

Tax payer is right, especially when Leech has claimed in the paper that the issues between contituenct and ward are 'inter changeable'. If this is so then you don't need to be paid twice for it! Mr Leech talks in his maiden speech of his opposition to ID cards; the main liberal line being they are a waste of money. If Mr Leech is such an advocate of finding money to put more police officers on the street then why is he taking public money that he no longer needs in addition to the £118,000+ expenses he receives for being an MP. Typical Lib Dem double standards!
