John Leech asked Yvette Cooper a question in Parliament yesterday (12th Dec) about brownfield sites.
She told him to contact his local council, saying "I suggest that the hon. Gentleman take up the matter with his local council"!
It would appear that John Leech can't do his council job when he's in Manchester and when he's in London he is told to contact his local council.
Yvette Cooper also explained that John Leech's proposed change in the definition of greenfield sites would leave people unable to build patios or extensions in their own gardens, and as such she had no plans to change the definition to include gardens.

Apologies to anyone who found themselves unable to post a reply to this blog entry over the last couple of days, or worse still was branded a spammer for trying to post.
John Leech Watch receives over 500 comments that are spam *EVERY DAY* (and that doesn't even include comments from Peter H!) - you may notice the occasional message that slips through the net and is displayed.
Luckily the spammers tend to post on older threads, which meant that up until today you were only able to post on the two most recent blog entries. Since this thread is still quite active (and it is very unusual for JLW to publish two blog entries in a day) I've changed the filters to allow comments to continue on this article (for a while, until people stop posting). In my hurry to implement this, I forgot to update the spam filter and as a result some of you will have been unable to post to the website as you were thought to be a "spammer".
I've removed any blocks on people that posted on the website over the last few days - this will mean that you are now able to post again. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Yes, if only Two Jobs John had the time to spend in the Council Chamber then he could get the answers to his questions! Perhaps nows the time for him to give up one of his day jobs?

Perhaps John Leech's advisers should explain to him that jumping on every bandwagon possible without first doing your research leads to scrappy worthless politics and ultimately humiliation in the debating chamber.

Alan If you have a point to make, make it and stop making sly remarks and hiding behind innuendo.

Sorry Suzanne I didn't realise that you had been nominated as head of the posting police! Furthermore,
I'd love you to explain how stating that something is ironic is sly, or perhaps even more bizarrely, 'hiding behind innuendo'??? The fact that an MP has been refferred by another MP to take the issue up with his local council, when he infact is still a councillor, needs no ellaborate posting to discuss it, like I say the irony speaks for itself!!!

An MP asks a question in Parliament and he is told to ask the council of which he is a member and this is only irony. It's pathetic incompetence is what it is. The man Leech is out of his depth. He has a staff full of politicians and he can't do his research. He is a disgrace. His lying about Christie will not go away though his tactic of trying to hide it under a blanket of incompetent performances in the chamber is an interesting one.
So fat this year he has been attacked by the Deputy Prime Minsiter, called a,liar in the HoC by a health minister, been called a joke by the national media, attacked by ray King over Christies and alinetate himself from his Manchester colleagues by sitting along in the council chamber like billy no mates.
The fellas a joke.

The man is out of his depth and out of control. His own party think he's a joke and an embarrasment. You watch how many of his colleagues help him in the next general election. After his behaviour over Christie they won't go near him. Even his closest Lib Dem colleagues in Manchester have started a whispering campaign against him.

You reckon!?!
Leech is a liar and the sooner we get him and his laughable record in front of the electorate the better. Remember last time he was a promise anything , la la land policies candidate. This time he will have a record to defend and its a shockingly poor record so far.

The sooner we get rid of party politics, be it Labour, Lib Dem, or Tory, (or John Leech) the better for democracy, accountability and the better for this country!!!

Its nothing to do with party politics to suggest that a man is a lying charlatan if he uses cancer patients to get himself into power. Party politics is just made up of individuals who share views which are different to another group of people and by and large in this country our civic affairs are conducted honestly and without corruption by people of good intention on all sides of the political spectrum.. However every now and then a bad penny like Leech turns up and gives politics and politicians a bad name. Leafleting cancer patients in a cancer ward for your personal political gain is an absolute moral outrage and no anmount of spin and smokescreening will hide that fact.Leech is a liar and should apologise.
