It's been far too long, but John Leech Watch is back! Sadly, due to technical issues, it's not been possible to comment on posts for a while, but it's all working again now.
Anyway, despite the brief interlude, it seems as though John Leech has been up to his usual tricks. It's got so bad that there's even a group on facebook called Have you seen Part-time John Leech?
In yet another debacle, John Leech has recently put out leaflets, paid for my the tax-payer claiming to have voted for the recent Climate Change bill. However, at the recent Climate Change Bill vote on the 9th June 2008 and again on Tuesday 28th October, he didn't even bother to turn up.
Any thoughts?!

Can anybody tell me how to renew my car tax? The disc has a date on it but I can't for the life of me figure things out.

I notice that this group is yet another attempt by Labour students to have a go at John Leech. If I were you, I wouldn't trust Mike Joslin - or anything he says - as far as you can throw him. He viciously intimidated one of my friends and slandered another, so you should probably understand me if I take anything he says with a pinch of salt.
As far as the actual content of the site goes, I have seen John Leech, although I haven't seen Lucy Powell. For a woman who claims to represent us and who wants to represent us in parliament, she could do a lot worse than actually show her face from time to time. John has the excuse of having to attend parliament; she doesn't.

this is absurd. I just looked at the "half you seen part-time john leech". What planet are these halfwits on? You may or may not like his politics, but john's greatest strength his his sheer hard work for his constituents. If you're going to try and undermine him, look for his weaknesses, not his strengths, morons!

So this site is, after all, still alive ... just!
As, under the unsteady hand of the Great and Glorious Eradicator of "Boom and Bust", the New Labour Project finally collapses into well-deserved ignominy - the only pity being that Blair was toppled before he could take his due and proper share of the general opprobrium -, I thought I'd just take a look, for old time's sake as a former Didsbury constituent, to see if there was any life in Thomas Graham's old dog, or if the death knell of New Labour had been anticipated here, as seemed to be the case the last time I looked.
And, behold, there are STILL faint twitchings of Labour life on the site, even though, as peter H says, they do no more than bear the mark and style of the delightful Mr Damian McBride.
But then Withington Constituency Labour was always distinctly McBridish.
Gloating? Well, just a little. You have to, when even Alice Mahon - the sort of person who has "Labour" written right through her psyche, like a stick of Blackpool rock - sees the light ....

what hard work? He works his socks off for his constituents. by tax cheat do you mean he taxed his car a couple of weeks late? Is that it? Is that the best you can come up with? I taxed my car late this year - DVLA sent the reminder to the wrong address. Same as john. That makes me a tax cheat? Don't be so daft.
Do you think for one single second that shouting "Liar!" is going to impress one single floating voter? No. It makes you look like a halfwit - unless of course you can back it up with concrete facts. If you can, then spell them out clearly and simply. Otherwise I can only assume that you are a John Leech supporter using agent provocateur tactics to smear Labour by making them look like complete tossers.

I think that Labour does that themselves...

No change on this site then!! It's interesting to see that Dominic accepts the fact that John has to go to Parliament and therefore doesn't have as much time for his constituents as he once had! I seem to remember that the same reasoning was not afforded to Keith Bradley during his time in office. Oh how things can change to suit one's argument when the shoe is on the other foot! Good to see that you're still offending everyone Peter although worryingly I agree with you! Labour has got itself into a terrible mess and looking back, well done Mr Blair, get out while you can and leave it to the cretin that got us into this mess!! Roll on the next election, the Conservatives will landslide their way in and about time!!

Youre probably right Alan. Anybody who can bother looking back will see that I was pointing to overheated house prices and too much personal debt building up trouble 2 years ago, and it's sad to see it coming true.
It was Brown's incompetence that has done this.
Just to annoy everybody further though, i get paid in dollars, so I'm doing rather well out of it.

It has, Dave. We won. And the poor souls in the labour activist camps realise that trying to collar john leech for paying his car tax 2 weeks late sounds a little lame compared to the contant cockups and corruption in labour ranks.

Alan, I said that John did have that as an excuse, but I don't think that he needs to use it. My point was that I've seen more of him than I have of Lucy Powell, and congratulations to him for helping local people as well as representing us in parliament.
As far as the next elections go, I agree that Labour needs some time out of office, but I would rather have them than the Conservatives. Oh if only there was some alterantive!

Dominic, 5 years ago I was Labour through and through, Peter and Dave will be testament to that; however gone are the days of Tony Blair and Keith Bradley, who in my mind were fantastic politicians. Say what you want about Keith but I remain a real fan, I helped him in his office for a number of months and the guy was absolutely genuine, honest and down to earth - thats why I spent all my free time helping his campaign. True I don't like John Leech, however to use car tax as an example is pretty lame. Once again, the 'New' Labour (of the Brown era I refer) avoid the real issues and focus on the ridiculous! I was naturally Conservative before Tony Blair came to power and pretty much centre right. Where we are now is a real mess, almost as bad as the Wall Street Crash of 1929 (if I've got the date wrong there I'm sure that Peter will correct me). We need to focus on real issues now and instead of doing that the news is focussed on Cabinet Ministers - in the middle of a recession - buying barbecues and paying for porn at the tax payers expense. This government must go now and the only viable alternative is the Conservative Party. Like them or not they have fresh, young leaders with ideas - it's not the Margaret Thatcher days or the dubious leadership of Hague. All that aside, and I never thought I'd ever hear myself saying this, I'd sooner see a Lib Dem Government as opposed to another 5 years of these jokers!

Yes Dave, hopefully there is something in the air and the current fiascos will make everybody question everything. In business we are currently in a crisis because of the economy. But some of us, me included, always take these crises as being massive opportunities because a lot of the dross goes to the wall and every buyer out there starts to shop around and look at other suppliers, and, if you get your act together and think straight, it is the best time to get new clients. The same principle applies in politics and I hope that this will make every voter both think again about who to vote for, and maybe even get them out and voting. Every party in parliament has been at fault, and every politician should have to properly justify his position.Politicians of every stripe have been fiddling their expenses whjolesale and it stinks.

What a surprise, old Mr Brown decided to keep the inquiry into the Iraq war as secret. So much for an open and democratic form of government!

Strange, I posted a new thread, but Thomas hasn't put it on public display yet (a week after I sent it), regarding the very poor Labour share of the vote. Is this yet more censorship from this site?

Labour's collapsed dave. Thry gave up. Feel almost sorry for our old sparring partners. They're all sincere, fighting for their beliefs, and all their heros have turned out to be sponging grafters or incompetents. They deserve better than that, just like the rest of us

See the government is trying to pull the wool over people's eyes when it comes to the ID Cards. Another reason why I shall continue to support Lib Dems. I wonder if a time will come when I shall shift back to Labour?

Peter H: Re WDRA attendance ... WDRA is an "owned" organisation. Might as well be tagged WDLDRA. Blatantly oppositional and in the pocket of the Lib Dems. Don't know whether this event was properly advertised or deliberately held on an inconvenient date. Lucy's wedding or some such perhaps?

On the enduring question of John Leech and his lying. I am told that this disgrace to the office of MP and before that Cllr has been going round defaming me and saying it was I who outed his extraordinary failure to tax his vehicle correctly. Repeating this untrue libel to influential people and doing untold damage to my magnificent reputation.
An absolute slander. I demand an apology from the lying scumbag Leech. And also on behalf of the postal and DVLA workers that John Bull also libelled instead of just shrugging and getting his Road Tax paid instead of evaded.
He's lucky his car wasn't cubed. Did it have up to date insurance and MOT? I don't understand why he didn't correct his foolish omission immediately if his other documents were in order.
