Norman Lewis is one of the most experienced campaigners and councillors around; he has fought for a better deal in Chorlton his whole life and is often described as a true local hero. He is the former Chair of Nell Lane Tenants and Residents Association where he played his part in securing a better deal for local residents for more than 10 years. He was absolutely instrumental in the construction of Buckthorn House on Nell Lane Estate following long pursuing, petitions, lobbying and a hard fought campaign.
Norman was the councillor for Chorlton Park for ten years, so really understands the issues that concerns residents and has not given up on fighting for the area. Despite not being a councillor at present he hasn't stopped trying to make Chorlton a better place, currently the Chair of Friends of Southern Cemetery, and founding member. He frequently organises the Food Foreshore Scheme on Merseybank offering struggling families a welcome helping hand. Regularly volunteering for over a decade with John Leech and the Manchester Liberal Democrats, he is also the former director of South Manchester Credit Union. Norman can always be seen out and about in Chorlton, canvassing, delivering leaflets, collecting casework, chatting to residents and has become somewhat of a local celebrity!
Norman has never given up on Chorlton and will continue to fight for the best deal possible. This May, electing Norman Lewis in Chorlton Park will ensure a more balanced council, one where he can make a difference for you.
